Your Body Needs Water

I feel like everyone is on a health kick right now, and that's wonderful! No matter what inspires you, making positive changes in you life is always a good thing. But, there's one healthy habit that a lot of people forget about, and that's drinking more water. You body is made of water, you need water to survive, and you should be "chugging" water on the daily.

Water is essentially a miracle product. It's the infomercial thing that everyone should be raving about because of its amazing benefits. Water has many impacts on your body, your mood, and the way that you feel. Take a look at everything it does for your health:

  • Flushes toxins out of your vital organs
  • Carries nutrients to all of your cells
  • Regulates your body temperature
  • Lubricates and cushions all of your joints
  • Aids the digestive system by making it easier to do what it needs to do
  • Helps the brain manufacture some hormones and neurotransmitters
  • Protects your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues
  • Creates glowing, radiant skin

While you might understand the benefits of increasing your water intake, sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge to change the amount of water you are drinking in a day. I don't want you feeling overwhelmed or start flopping around like a fish, so here are a few easy ways to start drinking more water.

Make a mug of hot water and lemon when you wake up.

This is a common "beauty guru" tip. Apparently there are a lot of health and beauty benefits for starting your day off with a cup of this tasty water concoction. But, I mostly like it because it wakes me up in a way that doesn't overload me with caffeine. The warm water soothes my cringing body that still wants to go to sleep and the lemon gives the drink a bit of a zip to help me open my eyes and start my morning routine.

Drink a big glass of water before every meal.

I love this routine because it ensures that you are always hydrated throughout the day. But it is especially important if you are interested in losing weight. Drinking water before you meals will fill up your stomach and aid in a quick digestion.

Keep track of your water intake.

Don't treat this like a chore. Keeping track of how much water you are drinking in a day can actually be fun. A year ago, I made a water bottle that looked cute and served it purpose, plus it also kept track of the time and where I should be on my water consumption. I loved using this water bottle because it made the process of staying hydrated a fun challenge that I felt like I could achieve.

Make some tasty detox waters.

Water doesn't have to be bland. It is especially important to enjoy drinking water if you are going to reach the recommended daily amount on a regular basis. What I like to do to spice things up is to add in some fruit from time to time. Different fruit mixes supposedly have different effects on your body, so do some research and find a mixture that works for you. You can check out some of my favorite detox waters here.

So while you're making all of these positive health changes in your life this month, remember how important water can be for you. Don't skimp on this!
